Christopher T. Melroy, M.D.

Dr. Chris Melroy is Otolaryngologist (Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeon) who has completed a Fellowship specializing in Nasal and Sinus diseases.  He is a native Savannahian, and he graduated from Benedictine Military School in Savannah as Valedictorian.  He received a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology in the Honors Program at the University of Georgia, where he graduated Summa Cum Laude, with highest honors, and as the First Honor Graduate (UGA’s equivalent of Valedictorian).  He attended medical school at the Medical College of Georgia where he was elected into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha medical honor society as a junior medical student.    Dr. Melroy completed an internship in General Surgery at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill.  He received his Ear, Nose, and Throat training

there as well by performing a residency in Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.  He is board certified and is a diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery.


In addition to his patient duties, Dr. Melroy conducts research in the field of Rhinology and has presented his research at dozens of national and international meetings.  He has authored over 25 articles and book chapters dedicated to sinus disease.  He teaches instructional sinus courses and has trained other Ear, Nose, and Throat surgeons on how to perform advanced sinus surgery.  He has given recent courses and lectures at Duke Hospital we well as in Miami, Norfolk, and Seattle.  He also has performed live cadaver surgical demonstrations to hundreds of ENT surgeons both nationally and internationally.  In an attempt to develop better sinus instrumentation, he has worked with Acclarent, Inc. with the balloon dilating catheter and balloon sinuplasty.


Dr. Melroy received the House Officer Excellence Award at the University of North Carolina Hospital in Chapel Hill and was the only surgeon to receive the award.  He also has received the Eskelund Award for excellence in pediatric surgical care.


Dr. Melroy, his wife, and his 2 children are glad to be back home in Savannah.
