A one-year fellowship program is available to Residency-trained Otolaryngologists; preferentially, candidates will be board-eligible or board-certified from the American Academy of Otolarngology-Head and Neck Surgery.  Fellows are matched through San Francisco Match, and matching information is detailed on their website.

Fellows will be trained in advanced techniques in nasal and sinus surgery with a very strong emphasis on functional surgery.  Training also involves experience in skull base surgery including benign and malignant neoplasms such as pituitary tumors, osteomas, inverting papillomas, meningoceles, encephaloceles, etc.  Fellows are also exposed to CSF leak repair, orbital decompressions, optic nerve decompressions, the balloon dilating catheter, and a myriad of revision functional cases.   We feel that a fellow’s training in frontal sinus surgery is unparalleled.

Our practice has a very unique patient population as our patients are referred from all over the southeast and beyond with challenging problems.  Fellows have one-on-one interaction with Dr. Kuhn as well as Dr. Melroy during their time in Savannah.  Dr. Kuhn has trained over 20 fellows and has one of the oldest fellowship programs that dates back to 1992.  During your fellowship you will not have any interaction with ENT residents to dilute your experience– we are proud of the experience we offer our fellows.  Research opportunities are as abundant as the patient pathology you will encounter.  Our practice and the wonderful city of Savannah provide an excellent atmosphere for fellows to achieve their full potential.
